World Trade Center – Brooklyn Bridge – Governors Island – Chinatown B-Day Celeb!

Here’s a really nice spring outing in Fun City that includes scenic ferry cruises! We’ll start from the WTC, hike over that world famous “tourist trap,” the Brooklyn Bridge, then down through Brooklyn Bridge Park to Pier 6 – a distance of about 3 mi. – where we’ll take the ferry over to Governors Island. We’ll do a little tour of the Island – about 1.5 mi. – and, then, take the ferry back over to Manhattan. Then, we’ll hike over to Chinatown – a little over 1 mi. – for an ideal ending to this ideal Big Apple outing – a B-day celebration for your humble Trail Shrinks Event Host, Denis, at the Big Wong restaurant (which was especially selected for Mark, Manny and Rags – who are also picking up the tab ;~)! So, total distance on foot will be about 6 mi. over city sidewalks and paved walking paths with no strenuous hill climbing – and scenic ferry rides to boot!

Meet up point will be the center of the WTC Oculus. So, for all those TS’s coming from Jersey, the best way to get there is to go to Newark Penn Station and, then, take the PATH straight to the WTC Station which is right there in the Oculus.
