Gravel Hill Trail in Thompson Conservation Area

This is a nice moderate hike of 3.5 miles over mildly undulating terrain with occasional short (100-200 ft.) steep up-and-downgrades with no significant elevation gain. There are three or four fun(!) bridges to cross over meandering creeks which have almost no water running through them thanks to the drought we’ve been having this year. Only hazard to be mindful of are the fallen leaves which have created a thick carpet over the entire length of the trail which can be slippery in some places and conceal roots, rocks and other debris which may cause tripping.

Meet up location is the parking lot of the Monroe Township Soccer Club on Prospect Plains Rd (1/4 mile past the post office on Perrineville Rd).

After the hike, for those who’d like, we’ll head 1 mile down the road to the Concordia Shopping Center to have dinner at Christo’s Kitchen.
