Update Notice: In the interest of better fulfilling the creed of Trail Shrinks to be a group that serves folks of all interests and levels of abilities who like to do more out on the trail, like socializing and enjoying the scenery, than just “grinding along the trail,” this hike is being made a little more “accessible and palatable” by the inclusion of the following updates to the original itinerary, the primary one being the trimming down of the total distance from over 10 miles to a little over 7.

Starting out in Fort Lee, we’ll hike across the George Washington Bridge, up along the Hudson River Greenway on the Empire State Trail to the Dyckman Street Viaduct – a distance of about 3.5 miles. Then, we continue east along the Trail and down into the northern end of Fort Tryon Park where we’ll hike 1 mile down the “Outer Limits Trail,” going past the Cloisters, and out the southern entrance of the park. We eventually get back to the GWB and back over to Fort Lee. There, for those who’d like to join in, we’ll finish our day’s outing with a Cuban feast at the Kuba Restaurant ([https://www.kubarestaurant.com/](https://www.kubarestaurant.com/)). The complete roundtrip will total about 7.5 miles. Most of it will be on flat paved pathways except for the trail in Fort Tryon Park which will be dirt over moderately hilly terrain. So, this is a lengthy moderate hike accessible to all levels of experienced hikers but not absolute beginners.

Meet up point will be beside the restrooms in Constitution Park, Fort Lee.
