In response to (surprisingly!) popular demand, here is a “night at the opera” complete with pre-performance supper. The opera “on the bill” for Saturday, June 10, at 8:30 PM is Mozart’s delightful mythological “fairy tale,” “Die Zauberflote” (“The Magic Flute”) being performed at the fabulous MET opera in Lincoln Center [https://www.metopera.org/season/2022-23-season/die-zauberflote/](https://www.metopera.org/season/2022-23-season/die-zauberflote/)
This is one of the most popular, “accessible” and “opera-novice-friendly” operas ever composed (plot synopsis: [https://www.metopera.org/discover/synopses/die-zauberflote/](https://www.metopera.org/discover/synopses/die-zauberflote/)) and, so, it’s perfect as a first-time experience for anyone who has ever thought about “trying out” an opera. The cost of a ticket in the “Family Circle” where our group will be sitting, is also “opera-novice-friendly” at only $44.50. So, here’s your chance to experience one of humanity’s greatest forms of fine arts entertainment performed by one of the world’s most famous and prestigious opera companies in one of the world’s grandest and most spectacular opera houses! In other words, it’s a chance to see just how “damn lucky” we, who live here in NY and NJ, really are!
Before the opera (at 5:45 PM), we’ll meet at the Hummus Place ([https://www.hummusplace.com/](https://www.hummusplace.com/)) for a “pre-opera supper.” So, anyone who is interested in joining in on this classy and festive “night at the opera” in Fun City, can RSVP here AND send $44.50 by Venmo to @Opera-Night-101. NOTE: your RSVP will not be complete until you pay for a ticket. Tickets are selling fast, so, to ensure that our group will get the best seats available, tickets will be purchased on Friday, May 12, which means that RSVP’s and payment collection will close on Thursday, May 11. So, don’t delay – RSVP and PAY today!
Participants are encouraged to “dress smart,” e.g., no t-shirts, jeans and/or flip-flops, but, “black tie” and “evening gowns” are not required either.
